Our take
Sixty settings across brew styles
Sage says the 60 settings cover everything from espresso to French press. That range makes it a flexible single grinder for a kitchen that switches between an espresso machine, a pour over and a cafetière. Burrs are listed as stainless steel conical burrs.
With so many steps across the full range, the espresso portion uses only some of them, so very fine espresso tuning may feel coarser than on a dedicated espresso grinder.
Dosing iQ and the display
Dosing iQ adjusts grind time in 0.2 second increments. The LCD shows the current grind setting, the grind time and the number of shots or cups selected. Pre-programmed settings cater for grinding into a portafilter, an airtight container, a gold tone filter basket or a paper filter.
Capacity and size
The hopper holds 450 g, the largest in this group, so you can keep a full bag of beans loaded. The grinder measures 15 cm long, 16 cm wide and 38 cm high and weighs 3.96 kg. Check the height under wall cupboards with the hopper fitted. Power is 165 watts.
