Our take
Cold extraction and the drinks list
Jura lists cold extraction as a feature of the Z10. The listing does not give the full menu or the number of drinks, so you cannot count presets from it. What it does make clear is that the machine handles both hot drinks and cold coffee, which none of the other Jura models in our comparison mention.
The machine accepts both whole beans and ground coffee, with a ground coffee container listed in the box.
Grinding and brewing technology
Active Grain Control is listed as a feature, alongside Jura's 3D brewing technology and smart preheating. Smart preheating aims to have the brew unit at temperature for the first drink, so a morning espresso is not lukewarm.
Pump pressure is listed at 15 bar and power at 1,450 W.
Milk and controls
An automatic milk system that turns milk into froth is listed, along with a milk system in the box. Control is by touchscreen, and a Smart Mode is listed, though the listing does not explain what it adjusts.
The body measures 45 by 32 by 38 cm and weighs 10 kg, with a glossy black finish on stainless steel.
Gaps in the listing
The water tank capacity is not clearly stated. The specification table gives a capacity of 1000 ml without saying what it refers to. The bean container is listed at 280 g, which is the largest of the Jura models on this site.
Z10 or E8
The Jura E8 states 17 programmed specialities, including americano and cortado, and is the better documented machine for hot drinks. The Jura ENA 8 is the compact choice. The Z10 only makes sense over them if cold coffee and the larger bean container are important to you.
Verdict
Choose the Jura Z10 if you want Jura's flagship with cold extraction and a 280 g bean container, and you will use both hot and cold drinks. If you only drink hot coffee, the Jura E8 offers a clearly stated 17-drink menu, and if worktop space is the limit, the Jura ENA 8 is the compact alternative.
