Our take
From beans to cup
The E6 uses the Professional Aroma Grinder, which Jura says delivers 12.2 percent more aroma from whole beans. Extraction uses the Pulse Extraction Process for espresso, and the brew unit is described as the eighth generation with 3D brewing technology.
An optional pre-ground chute lets you use ground coffee for a one-off cup, handy for decaf in the evening.
Programming your drinks
Coffee strength, volume, temperature, the amount of milk foam and hot water are all programmable. That lets you set a long coffee or a milky drink the way you like it and repeat it every morning. The listing does not give the number of one-touch drinks on this model.
Display and maintenance
Control is through a colour display, which Jura describes as intuitive and user-friendly. Maintenance programs are built in, which takes the guesswork out of routine cleaning. Power is listed as 1,450 W.
The exterior finish is listed as matte black over a stainless steel body. A dark matte surface tends to hide fingerprints and splashes better than a gloss or white finish, which helps on a busy kitchen worktop.
Size and capacity
The listed dimensions are 27.9 by 44.7 by 35.1 cm and the weight is 9.98 kg. The specification table gives a capacity of 1000 ml, but it does not say clearly whether that is the water tank, so treat tank size as unconfirmed on this listing. The bean container size is not stated either.
E6, E8 or ENA 8
The Jura E8 adds a stated menu of 17 specialities including americano and cortado, and a 2.8 inch display. The Jura ENA 8 is smaller, with a stated 1.1 L tank and 125 g bean container. The E6 sits between them as the plainer E line machine.
Verdict
Choose the Jura E6 if you want the E line grinder and pulse extraction with programmable drinks, and do not need a long list of presets. If a broad menu matters, the Jura E8 is the step up, and if you need a compact footprint the Jura ENA 8 is the better fit.
