The 1Zpresso K-Ultra is for a coffee drinker who brews filter one day and espresso the next and wants one hand grinder that handles both. The listing makes its case on the adjustment: an external dial with more than 100 clicks of 20 microns each, so moving from a coarse cafetière grind to espresso is a single turn rather than a fiddly reset.

In its favour
- The external dial covers coarse to espresso fine in one rotation, with over 100 clicks.
- The maker says the K burr suits filter, French press and espresso.
- A travel case, cleaning brush and air blower are included, with a one-year limited warranty.
Good to know
- At 20 microns per click it is less fine-grained than the espresso-focused J-Ultra.
- Holding 35 to 40 g, it grinds for one or two brews at a time.
Our take
The K burr and what it is for
1Zpresso describes the K burr as a precision stainless steel conical burr built for speed and consistency. The listing positions it as an all-round design, naming filter coffee, French press and espresso. In practice that suggests a grinder tuned for clarity in pour-over while still able to reach espresso fineness.
Adjusting the grind
The dial sits on the outside of the grinder, so you can change the setting without taking anything apart. Each click moves 20 microns, and there are over 100 of them across the range. For espresso that is fine enough to dial in a shot with small corrections, and for filter it gives plenty of room to move between recipes.
The catch cup snaps on magnetically and holds 35 to 40 g of grounds, which covers a large pour-over or two espresso doses.
Build, cleaning and travel
The body is aluminium and the weight is listed as 699 g. The handle folds away with a push and twist, which also stops the grinder rolling over on its side. Dismantling for cleaning needs no tools, and a cleaning brush and air blower are in the box.
A carrying case is included, and 1Zpresso says each burr is factory calibrated and rated to grind 100 to 200 kg over its life. The warranty is listed as one year limited.
K-Ultra or J-Ultra
The 1Zpresso J-Ultra uses a coated burr and 8 micron clicks, so it is the sharper tool if you drink almost only espresso. The K-Ultra trades some of that fine resolution for range, which suits anyone who brews filter as often as espresso. The Comandante C40 MK4 is the other premium choice here, but its listing does not state the click size.
Verdict
Choose the 1Zpresso K-Ultra if you want one hand grinder that covers espresso, pour-over and cafetière with a clear external dial. If espresso is almost all you make, the J-Ultra's 8 micron steps are a better match, and if a German-made classic appeals more than stated click sizes, look at the Comandante C40 MK4.
