Our take

The drinks and how they are made

Jura names espresso, coffee, cappuccino, americano, espresso doppio, macchiato, cortado, latte macchiato, flat white and a portion of milk foam among the 17 specialities. Short drinks use the Pulse Extraction Process, which Jura describes as pulsing water through the coffee to bring out flavour in a short extraction time.

Intelligent preheating is listed too. The aim is that the very first cup of the morning comes out at the right temperature rather than lukewarm.

Grinder and controls

The Professional Aroma Grinder is Jura's own design. The maker claims it delivers 12.2 percent more aroma and holds its grind quality over the life of the grinder. The listing does not say how many grind settings there are or how they are adjusted.

Controls are a colour display plus six buttons, with an operating concept that Jura says uses artificial intelligence. In practice this should mean the drinks you use most are easy to reach.

What is missing from the listing

Water tank capacity and bean container size are not given on this E8 listing, and both matter for anyone making long drinks. The weight is listed as 12.7 kg, and the body is 44.7 cm deep, 27.9 cm wide and 35.1 cm high, so plan for a permanent spot rather than moving it around.

Jura lists 1,450 W power and 230 V, so it runs on a standard UK supply. The body is described as stainless steel with a white finish on this Piano White version, which shows coffee splashes more than a dark finish might.

E8 against the E6 and Z10

The Jura E6 shares the grinder and pulse extraction but its listing does not give a drinks count, so the E8 is the safer pick if a long menu matters. The Jura Z10 adds cold extraction and a 280 g bean container, which makes sense only if you want cold coffee from the same machine.

Verdict

Buy the Jura E8 if you want a long menu of milk and black drinks, simple controls and a premium build. Pick the Jura ENA 8 instead if space is tight and you can live with a 1.1 L tank, or the Krups Evidence EA8918 if a stated 2.3 L tank for several long coffees a day matters more than the Jura name.
