The Beko CaffeExperto (CEG7302B) is for someone who wants bean-to-cup convenience for black coffee but is happy to texture milk by hand. It stands apart through a mix of practical features at a modest level: a dual nozzle for two coffees at once, a 2 litre removable tank, a 13 level grinder and a manual steam wand rather than an automatic milk system.

Our take

Five presets and the dual nozzle

Beko lists five preset coffees: americano, single or double espresso, ristretto and lungo. The colour touch screen is used to select them. There are no milk recipes on the menu, because milk is frothed separately with the wand.

The dual nozzle brews two coffees at the same time, which helps at breakfast or in a small office. An integrated cup warmer holds up to six cups, a detail more common on manual espresso machines.

Grinder and pump

The stainless steel grinder has 13 adjustment levels and feeds from a 250 g bean container, giving more room to tune than several automatic rivals. Ground coffee can be used too. The pump is listed at 19 bar, although pump pressure on its own says little about the shot quality you can expect.

Steam wand and cleaning

The integrated steam wand is what makes the milk. It needs practice to get a fine microfoam, and the wand must be wiped and purged after each use. The upside is control over texture and temperature, and no carafe or tube to deep clean.

Automatic cleaning programmes include an auto rinse, and some parts are removable for access to tricky areas. The spec table marks it as not dishwasher safe. The tank has a carrying handle and holds 2 litres, and the body is 40.5 cm deep, 27.5 cm wide and 34 cm high, so it fits under low cupboards. It weighs 9.6 kg.

Compared with Siemens and De'Longhi

The Siemens EQ300 also uses a wand, its milkPerfect design froths directly in the mug, but the tank is a smaller 1.4 litres. The De'Longhi Magnifica S has a 13 setting grinder, a manual frother and can also make two cups at once. Next to both, the Beko offers the largest tank and a cup warmer.

Verdict

Pick the Beko CaffeExperto if you mainly drink black coffee, like making two at a time and are happy to steam milk yourself. If you would rather froth straight into the mug, the Siemens EQ300 is simpler, and if you want automatic milk drinks, step to a LatteGo machine such as the Philips 3300 LatteGo instead.
